About Dance Nova Scotia
Dance Nova Scotia is the provincial service organization dedicated to supporting, promoting, and advancing dance throughout Nova Scotia. Founded in 1974, the organization serves dancers, educators, studios, choreographers, cultural groups, and dance enthusiasts across all styles and disciplines. Through educational programs, professional development opportunities, community initiatives, advocacy, and networking, Dance Nova Scotia works to strengthen and connect the province's vibrant dance community. The organization supports dance as a cultural, educational, recreational, and health-promoting activity, providing resources and opportunities for individuals of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds. Dance Nova Scotia also manages programs that support artists, teachers, schools, and community organizations while maintaining a province-wide dance database, event calendar, and affordable studio access through DANSpace. Its mission is to foster a thriving and inclusive dance community where dance can be experienced, celebrated, and shared by everyone.
