Meet Featured Dancer, Emma of Danceability based in Saint John, New Brunswick.
Hi, I’m Emma!
I’m thirteen years old and I’m a competitive dancer from New Brunswick. I started dancing when I was two years old and I don’t plan on stopping anytime soon! I do ballet, pointe, tap, jazz, street jazz/hip hop, lyrical, contemporary, and acro. Out of all of those styles, I don’t really have a favourite. All dance styles stand out in a special way to me!
Fun fact, my mom is a dance teacher and has been teaching me since I have been in competitive dance. I competed my first solo when I was just 4 years old! I have tried to do a different style each time and so far I have done a lyrical, contemporary, jazz, acro and tap.
I also volunteer my time to assist dance classes with younger dancers on Saturdays. I love helping them each week to find their love of dance.
One of my greatest accomplishments thus far, would be making Team Canada with World Performers International. With World Performers Internationa, I get to travel to Prague, Czechia to represent my country on the world stage. I have been working hard and rehearsing all year in preparation for this event.
Outside of my dance life I enjoy hanging out with my best friends or going to the mall with them. I stay active within my school and participate in track and field and volleyball!
Out of all the things I can do, dance is my passion 💕
