Meet Featured Dancer, BRAELIN Thunder Bay Ontario Dance Dynamics Studio based in THUNDER BAY, ONTARIO.

Hi, I’m BRAELIN!

I’m a 14-year-old dancer, and dance has been a part of my life since I was just 2 years old. Growing up in a studio owned by my family, I've spent countless hours learning, growing, and sharing my passion with younger dancers. It's a place where I feel truly at home, and I cherish every moment I spend there.

One of the things I love most about dancing is being a teacher's assistant. Helping out in the younger classes on a weekly basis is such an honor. I remember being in their shoes not too long ago, and it's incredibly rewarding to see them grow and develop their own love for dance. It's like being a part of their journey, and I wouldn't trade it for anything.

I've been competing in solos since I was 3 years old and joined the competition team when I was just 5. The thrill of being on stage is something I find hard to put into words. It's a feeling of accomplishment that makes all the hard work and dedication worthwhile.

Over the years, I've been fortunate enough to win many overall high scores, top soloist awards, and full scholarships to train with amazing faculty across Canada and the USA. Each of these experiences has shaped me as a dancer and fueled my passion even more.

But dance isn't the only thing I’m passionate about. I’m a straight-A student and will be entering high school this year. I also love participating in school sports like volleyball and track and field. My dance training has contributed to my success in events like long jump and triple jump. The discipline and strength I've developed through dance have given me an edge in these sports.

In addition to school and dance, I make time to volunteer in my community. One of my favorite activities is helping in the kitchen at the Shelter House, where we provide food and housing to those in need. It's a humbling experience that reminds me of the importance of giving back.

Despite my busy schedule, I always find time to hang out with my friends. Strong friendships are so important for my mental health, and I make sure to nurture those relationships. I also enjoy camping, biking, and exercising my dog daily, which are great for both my physical and mental well-being.

In every aspect of my life, whether it's dance, academics, sports, or community service, I strive to give my best. Dance has taught me so much about dedication, hard work, and the importance of following your passion. I can't wait to see where this journey takes me next. ✨

From time to time we feature dancers in our Dancer Spotlight.
